Hi

My old Sony D350 has the known Motorspindle Problem  ... no other Problems it works fine .
I put the Motor out ... mhh take look  inside  ... so far so good ( WOW filigree Brushes !)
Bearing clearance  ... how to measure ... i lubricate the Bearings and  install the Motor

Orginal Sony Power Supply connected to the Player...
it start to spin  but the Sled runs inside an will not stop  ...

OK Screws out check the Sled Switch  ... works ...
I put the D350 in Service Mode
Sled back and forth  Check
Focus  up and down Check
Laser is on ...
Spindle  runs ...

I test the 5v and 3.5V  ... mhh 3.8V and 3.6V  so I turn the 5VTrimmer to get 5V ... ( measured with a Digital Multimeter )
Input Power 11.9 V

Any Ideas ?

Thanks Meinhard

The SLED LIMIT SWITCH is used to detect the laser whether it has arrived the zero original position. The switch connects the servo IC: CXA1272. Once the 1272 receives a Low level signal, it will stop the sled motor. In your question, you can manually push the switch when the laser is moving towards zero position. If the sled motor stops, the control circuit should be OK, pls check why the laser couldn't hit the switch? If the sled motor doesn't stop, it might be something wrong with the 1272, or power supply of 1272. In my history of repairing 1500+ vintage CD players, I've never seen a dead 1272 or 1271. Pls take a look the mechanical parts whether the laser successfully hit the switch.

The spindle motor is MABUCHI RF410.
