I got a Sony D-303 (DBB version). It reads much better on the stamp CDs but not so much on CD-Rs. Here are the issues:
1. It skips sometimes but not unbearable so I guess the spin motors is somewhat worn-out or at least needs some lubrication.
2. When it skips, music sounds over-gained for a few seconds then sound normal again.
3. It shows low-battery on my recharble Ni-Mh batteries (they are new and fully charged measued 1.40-1.42v). Initially, it shows full battery indicator but then drops to one bar, and then low battery. However, if it sucessfully starts reading, then battery power will have no issues (full bar).
I know this device needs to be re-capped, but the device fucntions pretty much good.
This device sounds good (better than D-25/D-35 in my point of view)
